| A3) | How to Teach Children to Follow Instructions All parents want cooperation but many find it difficult to teach. Most parents give instructions over a hundred times a day. In this session you will examine the Instruction Routine in your home. Replace whining, arguing, and yelling routines with a five-step approach that teaches cooperation and responsibility to children for the long-term. Giving instruction will never be the same. Bill and Bambi Neal are presenters for the National Center for Biblical Parenting, an organization committed to teaching Biblical parenting principles to help children change their hearts, not just their behavior. Bill and Bambi have 3 girls whom they homeschool. |

| B1) | Turn Your Dawdlers Into Diligents Dawdling ought to be a four-letter word! What are we to do with children who take 4 hours to complete a math assignment or go to clean their room never to be seen again—until dinnertime? It has been said that, “Diligence is the philosopher’s stone that turns every thing to gold.” Train your young children to diligently obey and one day you will have a child who, after being told once to complete an assignment, will diligently set out to perform the assignment to the best of his abilities. Sound like a dream? In this workshop, Lorrie Flem will share 15 effective ideas on how to overcome dawdling and turn it into diligence. |
| B2) | Building Character One Story at A Time It has been said that you will be the same five years from now as you are today, except for the people you meet and the books you read. Inspiring literature that models unwavering character can be one of the catalysts that awakens a child’s drive to first think differently and then act accordingly. Through an inspiring, informative and dramatized lecture, Mark Hamby will make you laugh and cry as he “demonstrates” the power of character-based literature. An annotated bibliography for preschoolers through adults will introduce powerful, life-changing Christian literature from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. |

| B5) | How to Correct Children with an Eye on the Heart It’s hard sometimes to know when and how to correct a child when you know the heart is in the wrong place. Bad attitudes, angry outbursts, disrespect, and meanness are just a few of the heart issues that need to be addressed. A heart problem requires a heart-based approach to correction. This practical session by Bill and Bambi Neal will give you hands on ways to correct your child that address the heart. |
| B6) | So You Want to Get a Job? (TEEN WORKSHOP) Do you want to get a job but are nervous about the job interview? | C1) | 12 Habits for Today’s Wise Woman After feeling the call to homeschool, preparing and organizing and even bracing yourself for challenging days, why is it that the urge to quit is so often overwhelming? In 1995 after four years of homeschooling, I wrote a list of 12 things I needed to make habits in order to do it all. These 12 rules are the same ones I live by today. Learn the 7 deadly homeschool mistakes, the cure for each one, and best of all, how to avoid them. From Mrs. Lorrie Flem, Randy’s rib, mama of 8, and publisher of TEACH Magazine will share with you from her 18 years of homeschooling experience. You will leave encouraged, refreshed, and armed with practical ideas that work! |
| C2) | The Angry Child, Teen, Parent and Spouse This inspiring and challenging session will focus on anger, it’s root causes, and it’s cures. Mark Hamby believes that most childhood and teenage anger is the result of four root causes: Fear, frustration, hurt, and selfishness. Learn to recognize these root causes, deal with them appropriately and compassionately and watch as your children, teens and spouse respond in ways you never dreamed possible. |
| C3) | The Pursuit of Purity for Young Men (TEEN WORKSHOP) This session will seek to deal honestly with the challenges of living a Christ-centered life among the deceitful distractions of a naked and shameless world. Like the Psalmist, we too must ask, “How can a young man keep his way pure?” This is a question that every young man must answer, lest his heart become enticed and be lead astray. We will not only seek an honest evaluation of our current culture, but also offer practical applications of the principles for purity found in God’s Word. Chris Miller is the pastor of Grace Church in Kalispell. Throughout his ministry, his energies have been chiefly directed toward the application of the gospel of Christ to the various areas of ministry pertaining to the family. He labors with the great hope that God would bring about a reconstruction of positive and proactive Christian family culture within this present generation. He and his wife, Peggy Sue, live in Kalispell where they homeschool their six children. |

| C5) | How to End Every Discipline Time with a Positive Conclusion Parents often think their job is done after they’ve given a consequence. Unfortunately, tension often lingers in the relationship. Learning how to end the discipline time constructively can make all the difference. Walk away from this seminar with a plan to move correction from the head to the heart. This session by Bill and Bambi Neal will give you a plan for helping the child who blames, rationalizes or justifies. |

Come and learn from Steve White just how to be an effective voice whether it might be in Helena or even Washington, DC. It’s crucial that we remain proactive in our Legislative battles. |
| C7) | The Power of Expectations A child will perform from their mind for their coach / teacher, but for a parent they will perform from their heart. High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectations. Both he who expects great things of others, and he who expects little will receive what he expects. April Thome works for the North Atlantic Regional School, which offers an accredited transcript and diploma for home school work on a national basis. |
| D1) | The Education of a Child—The Wisdom of Fenelon Working with parents and teachers over the past twenty-eight years, Mark Hamby will present what he believes is the most helpful and inspirational information of our day concerning the education of a child. Parenting based on gentleness, mentoring, joy and patience will be among just a few of the highlights of this seminar. |
| D2) | Really Listening to Teens Communication is the cornerstone of our relationships with teens but since the teen years can be so trying sometimes it seems there is no communication going on. The teen doesn’t talk about anything important and the parents don’t know how to really listen. Mrs. Lorrie Flem of TEACH Magazine will show you in this powerful presentation how to actively listen, ways to catch the communication, 10 ways to build trust, 6 ways to communicate clearly, how to listen to silent talk, and what you can do to meet your teen’s emotional needs so they become healthy, mature adults who love Jesus. |
| D3) | The Love & Logic Way Love and Logic is a way of working with children that puts parents and teachers back in control, teaches children to be responsible, and prepares young people to live in the real world, with its many choices and consequences. Love allows children to grow through their mistakes while logic allows children to live with the consequences of their choices. Come and enjoy this informal workshop for parents and teachers about how it all works. Jeremy and Alicia Brown are second generation homeschoolers who have been utilizing the Love and Logic methods with their three children. Jeremy is a self-employed carpenter who also helps Alicia with her business, “Alicia Brown Photography”. |
| D4) | Succeed in Reading, Writing, Math and Attention BECAUSE OF, Not IN SPITE OF, a Way of Thinking Understanding how ingredients of a way of thinking (in pictures) creatively (a talent) and the way we react to confusion explain struggles in learning. Do you feel like you may be covering material but to them it hasn’t been uncovered? Come learn how to make learning accessible to your “Upside Down Brilliant-Visual Spatial Learners”. Elsie Johnson is an educational therapist with Learning Options who helps learners of all ages recognize and respect the differences in ways of thinking and use their gifts. |
| D5) | Neo-Legalism: The Raising of Spiritual Dwarfs Homeschooling families are among those in the larger evangelical landscape, who are calling for, and helping to develop, a more conscientious and Biblical family culture. However, there are temptations for die-hard advocates of the Christian family to become quite “legalistic” in their approach to life, one another, and the local church. Using Galatians as our theological base, Pastor Chris Miller will lead us as we explore the devastating effects of legalism and show why legalistic tendencies among homeschooling families will rarely produce anything more than spiritual infants and dwarfs. |
