General Sessions
8:30 AM Friday – Mark Hamby
“Raise Them Up Don’t Crush Them Down”
One only has to listen to discover the heart of a child. Our goal as parents and teachers is to reach the heart, rather than simply realign behavior. Too often, we depend on rules as the primary enforcer of behavior. Rules can change behavior, but they can’t change the heart. When parents and teachers begin to discern the difference between character flaws and purposeful disobedience, they will implement a gentler approach to reaching and understanding their children. As a result, children will more willingly admit their faults and seek help from those they love. Join Mark as he relates his experience as a shepherd and the important lesson that you don’t become a shepherd just because you own sheep.
12:00 PM Friday – Ladies Tea with Lorrie Flem
“The Most Beautiful Gown is Out of This World”
From the material of our lives we will learn to create a gorgeous gown of eternal beauty fit for you, a daughter of the Most High King. We will learn about our heart attitudes as we talk about seam allowances, pattern adjustments, and zippers all so that we end up with a gown of beauty. Lorrie will share what Paul says the five character qualities of Christians should be and how to stitch those into our gowns so that when others see us, they see Jesus. We talk about the care and cleaning of our gown as we compare gentleness and kindness with washing out pride, harshness, and impatience. Come ready to relax, listen and let His truth seep into your soul with soothing grace and motivating mercy.
6:30 PM Friday – Teen Banquet with Mark Hamby
“If You’re a Christian, DON’T TELL ANYONE!”
Throughout the gospel of Mark, Jesus repeatedly commands his followers NOT to tell anyone about Him. In a dramatic interpretation from this gospel, Mark communicates a powerful message through the unique life of the Syrophonecian woman as well as the gripping testimony of five ninth grade boys who set their school on fire for Jesus Christ. Join Mark as he presents the ultimate test that opens the door to “tell like it’s never been told”.
7:30 PM Friday – Lorrie Flem
“Remember Why to Revitalize Today”
When we start doing something new, our reasons and commitment are strong in our minds. As time passes, we may lose sight and find that challenges cloud our vision and fog our memories. Before we know it, we are wondering “Why Am I doing this? Is it worth it?” Lorrie will share with us the two things you must have to reach the blessings and the four key elements of reaping rewards from homeschooling if you know what to do. Let’s remember why and revitalize together!

“Uniquely Used of God”
Charles Spurgeon once said, “Though many wishing to be great, have failed to be good.” This is true of our culture today. We have many wishful thinkers but not many who will take the initiative to rise above mediocrity to accomplish a worthy goal that pleases God and benefits man. In this seminar we will look at the preparation necessary to develop a child’s and adult’s natural abilities and the essential foundation (missing in today’s culture) that is the catalyst for all worthy goals. This seminar promises to be an eye opener-in more ways than you expect but in a way you will never forget!
