FAQ

What if I miss the deadline for registering?
We can’t accept registrations by mail after May 5th, but you can still register at the door. You can also register online at www.montanahomeschoolconvention.com until May 11th.

What if I can’t decide which workshop to choose?
We have some phenomenal workshops offered and we realize there may be several offered at the same time that you really don’t want to miss. All sessions will be professionally recorded and audio tapes will be available for purchase and pick up in the Vendor Hall. We will also be able to offer CD’s, however, they will need to be sent to you after the convention. For that reason, there will be a small fee for postage, but you may place your order at the time of the convention.

What if my child makes noise during the sessions?
Noises children make, no matter how endearing, significantly distract the instructors and those who have paid to attend the sessions. The audio tapes are also affected. We ask mothers or fathers with children to sit near an exit so that if your child makes noise, you can step out immediately.

Do I really need to wear my name tag?
Yes, everyone must wear his/her name tag at all convention activities. If you lose it, you can purchase another one for $3.00 at the registration booth.

Why should I spend time in the Vendor Hall?
Our vendors are VIP’s—Very Important People!! They help pay the expenses of a
convention by renting a table in the Hall. They also spend a LOT of money and time packing (and unpacking and carrying) HEAVY BOXES to come to our convention. Many of them probably could be at larger conventions where they would make more money, but they chose to be here. They are here for YOU!! They would love to talk with you—allow them to share their wisdom and expertise with you. Even if they might be selling a product that you are not interested in, thank them for coming. Please make every effort to purchase your products from those individuals who take the time and effort to discuss it with you. Saving a few dollars by ordering online is inconsiderate toward those who have spent time, energy and money to set up displays at our convention. We want our vendors to keep coming back to Montana!

What is this I hear about a Treasure Hunt?
Once again, we will have a treasure hunt for you to participate in and encourage you to visit all of the vendors. We expect to have over 50 booths of products/services for you to look at. Our vendors will be providing prizes for the Treasure Hunt.

What options do I have if I can’t afford a motel room?
We have several families who have offered to open their home to another homeschooling family who needs a place to stay. Several families of our homeschooling group have just a room that you can stay in and some have a place for you to park your RV. If you are interested in any of these options, please call our Hospitality Coordinator, Monica at 892-0081.

Why should I get my registration in early?
The main reason is Lorrie Flem—she has offered a bundle of resources available to everyone that registers early. She is offering a “Mother Enrichment Packet” free to all registrants before May 5th, which includes a MP3, an e-Book and a copy of TEACH magazine, which is a $27.00 value. If you send your registration in by April 20th, in addition to the Mother Enrichment Packet, you will receive an additional eBook from her, which makes it a $39.97 value. For ALL ladies who get their registrations in before May 5, Lorrie invites you to a special “Chatter and Talk” forum the night before the conference actually starts, complete with tea and snacks! For a description of this forum, see the “Workshops” section.
